Lua Servers Empty
PostSubject: Lua Servers   Lua Servers EmptyWed Jul 01, 2015 8:39 am

Hi,
in which forum should lua scripts be posted? There is a forum named "Scripts", is this only thought for Cubescript? Because I saw some lua scripts were posted in the "Scripts" forum and others in the "Lua" forum. Also maybe you could link these scripts somewhere on this website:

Baruch:  http://www.mirari.fr/g36p
JG99:     https://github.com/jg99/scgemamod
Sveark:  http://sveark.info/ac/Lua/

I know that JG99 and Svearks scripts are already linked, but it is linked as general information about lua. I think the scripts above can help people, who want to create their own lua script. They can be seen as an example for what you can do with lua mod and which functions might be useful.

Another topic which I think would be useful is "how to create your own gema server" explaining how to set up a VPS and what you need to do to install lua for your assaultcube server, etc. I saw someone asked this already : https://gema.forumactif.com/t336-how-to-make-a-new-gema-server-from-ordered-vps . The people here only made fun of him and weren't very nice. If you don't want to explain how to do it, you could at least post some links where it is explained how to use a VPS. Sadly I don't know how to set it up, but I found this tutorial: http://forum.cubers.net/thread-7467.html  . You probably can use most steps of this guide, but you will also need some tool to transfer your scripts to the server for example. The list doesn't have to be in detail with all single commands you have to use, just a list of all steps you have to do would be nice.

Some went and looked for dead topics?

Anyways, since Sveark and Baruch are inactive there is now a public repository with the sources. This repository includes an install-dependencies.sh and a build.sh which compiles the Lua mod. The binaries are then in linux_release and must be copied to the AC directory and replace it with the default binary (you can make a backup, if you want to). Execute server.sh and violá, your server is ready.
